September 3 - Bill Snyder, Bill Spencer, , Bill Hastings and Eldon fly Wednesday at Dexter Lake. - Bill Hastings photos Bill Snyder's battery caught fire. Luckily he was on the ground when smoke came out from under the cowling. Eldon whipped out his pocket knife and cut through to the battery as the cowl was melting. Snyder reached in and grabbed his battery and it melted the wire to his fingers but he got it out, threw it in the lake before the plane burned up. Glad he saved the plane.
