CRCF Float FlySee flyer --- June 14th Umpqua Valley Modelers - Roseburg/Sutherlin, OR - R/C Float Fly! 30th Annual Plat "I" Float Fly The Umpqua Valley Modelers of Roseburg/Sutherlin Oregon invites you and your club to participate in our 30th Annual Plat "I" Float Fly. The site is about 4 ½ miles (all paved road) east from the Sutherlin I-5 exit 136.    "Plat I Reservoir" signs are small, so watch for them. The event opens Friday, June 14th and runs until dusk, then Saturday the 15th until dusk and then on Sunday the 16th activities end at 1:00 pm. Pilots are welcome to fly before and after event hours. AMA rules apply as well as specific field rules, which will be posted. The Plat I Reservoir flying site is a small, scenic, city park with lots of lawn, fully plumbed, indoor restrooms, picnic areas, shade trees (clear of the flying area), parking, boat ramp and docks, and dry RV camping sites for pilots. The Plat "I" Float Fly is a fully sanctioned and insured AMA event. It is run primarily as a fun fly with the emphasis on having a good time for fliers and the whole family. There is a $10 landing fee, but spectators are welcome and watching and cheering are free. There will be raffle tickets for sale with two ready-to-fly floatplanes to be won and there are lots of other nice prizes donated by local businesses. There will also be tickets on sale for a 50-50 cash raffle. There will be a barbecue food vendor on site. Sutherlin is a town of about 7,000 and has multiple restaurants, fast foods, motels, RV parks, groceries, hardware stores, whatever you need except hobby shops. Al’s Cycle & Hobby in Medford is about 100 mi. south and Eugene Toy & Hobby is about 70 mi. north, so come prepared. 29thSee flyer --- July 2013 --- July 12th,13th,14th South Lane RC Modelers  Warbirds Over the Pacific “plus” being held in Cottage Grove, Oregon. It is a fun fly event with a static scale judging performed by the general public. Warbirds Over the Pacific is a themed event honoring veterans of foreign wars. The USMC will conduct opening ceremonies and military honors given to an outstanding veteran each year. There is dry camping allowed, motor homes welcome, (no hookups) There will be a Pilot’s raffle for some lucky pilot who will go home with an 88” AT6 Harvard from KMP. We hope to see you there, this is one event you won’t want to miss.
